Minimally invasive lumbar laminectomy (MISS)

Minimally invasive lumbar laminectomy (MISS)

It is the ideal technique for the treatment of canal stenosis, using the same principle of tubular working ports, consists of an incision of 18 mm in the back of the lumbar spine through which the "lamina" that is the posterior wall of the lumbar canal is removed, so that it is enlarged, thus obtaining the desired decompression. The main advantage of doing this procedure with minimally invasive technique is that it respects the insertion of the muscles, the spinous processes of the vertebrae and the posterior ligaments, so they do not instabilize the spine.
