Lumbar disc herniation
Lumbar disc herniation
Herniated discs are one of the most frequent diseases of the spine.
The disc is the cartilage that is between each vertebral body, when it is injured and goes beyond its limits, it can compress the nerves that run around it, causing sciatic pain, low back pain or both. In more severe cases they can also cause loss of strength in certain movements of the legs and feet, and even difficulty controlling the sphincters. When it is necessary to operate, discectomy is the best option, this can be done through the minimally invasive variant (tubular microdiscectomy) or through endoscopy, both techniques being minimally invasive.
