These procedures are indicated in certain types of vertebral fractures of the dorsal or lumbar spine.
It consists of introducing a cannula through incisions of less than 5 mm to the affected vertebra, once inside and under vision with X-ray equipment, the height lost by the fracture is restored by means of an inflatable balloon, this also creates a cavity that is then filled with cement, which allows stability and rigidity to the fracture, improves pain and prevents a deformity of the spine.
