Arthrodesis in vertebral fractures (MISS)
Arthrodesis in vertebral fractures (MISS)
When the type of fracture is more severe, other more complex procedures than kyphoplasty or vertebroplasty may be necessary. They consist of holding the spine by screws in the adjacent vertebrae to restore the height of the broken vertebra, stabilizing the spine preventing the fracture from progressing or causing any injury to the spinal cord or spinal nerves.
The proper diagnosis of the type of fracture is key for choosing the most appropriate procedure to treat it, since arthrodesis can be done minimally invasive, or may require traditional open surgery to make more complex corrections.
Duration and time of admission: Variables according to complexity
